Health Dashboard...
Connecting You with Key Performance Indicators of Health
The Health Dashboard, an Internet reporting tool that displays key performance indicators of health, is now available for public use. Data from 2005 to 2011 can be viewed for the entire MiHIA region, for a specific county or counties, and for some Health Department districts. To use the Dashboard, just select the geographic area of interest and choose from reports containing summary information, statistical details, health outcomes or health factors for that area.
For example, a young couple considering a move to Midland could find out that the county had a population of 82,548 with a median income of $51,953 and 29% high housing costs. They could further learn that only 12 percent of the county’s residents were considered to be in “poor health” and that 7.6% of babies born to county residents were low birth-weight. By comparing this information to data from surrounding counties, they would get a quick snapshot of the relative health of the com..munity.
The Health Dashboard is intended to serve the interests of community leaders, healthcare providers, consumers, public health officials and employers. It will empower MiHIA’s efforts to motivate change, promote healthier lifestyle choices and improve overall health outcomes in the region.
Now that the new tool is online, why not take the dashboard for a spin?
