Triple Aim
In 2010, MiHIA was selected to participate in the Triple Aim, an initiative of the Institute for Health Improvement (IHI). Triple Aim, which targets health care delivery at the regional level, focuses on three dimensions: Population Health, Patient Experience and Cost of Care. At the individual level, this translates to good or better health, good experience and good value.
This initiative is based on a core belief that solutions to national problems - like health care - can be found and designed at a regional level.
Benefits for the Region
MiHIA's involvement in this important initiative will provide direct and indirect benefits to the area and its residents. The visibility associated with the Triple Aim has the potential to position central Michigan communities for additional grants, financial support and health research dollars.
- In addition, more substantial health systems for the region will lead to:
- Increased appeal for business growth
- Decreased health care burden on employers, state and local budgets, and individuals
- Improve quality of life for citizens
- Healthier and more productive communities
- Enhanced ability for health systems and providers to meet tough health reform challenges for improved quality and cost containment/cost reduction
